Challenge
To create a unique and exciting interactive experience for Edith Cowan University at their post-graduation celebration party, recognising the University’s past while recognising its forward-looking philosophy.
Solution
Reflecting on ECU’s innovation culture, Lux created an interactive holographic experience that allows students to experience the wise words from ECU’s most significant, historical figure (Edith Cowan), as they embark on their future career.
Importing the first fog screen into Western Australia, the team at Lux were able to project the live footage of Edith Cowan onto the ethereal layer of fog, creating an illusory 3D holographic meet-and-greet session for the graduates.
Results
A truly magical moment was created when graduates got to “meet” the remarkable founder of their university for the first time. Many were amazed by the technology that made the illusion work, and others simply tried to touch Edith Cowan by reaching their fingers into the fog screen. The event received significant press coverage in The West Australian newspaper.
