Talent is the most important resource of any organisation and Lux Events is no exception. We have assembled a team of dynamic individuals, each with his/her own unique talent to make Lux what it is. We are proud to present our staff profiles below.
Dave founded Lux Events in 2003 and has been working in the events industry for over 20 years. Lux Events has since grown into a fully integrated events management and production service offering under the leadership of Dave who is a strategic consultant on many high profile events. It’s under his direction and drive that Lux Events continues to deliver events with more impact, greater precision and an unwavering commitment to individuality and professionalism. Basically, he’s the head honcho and the ‘big picture’ guy.
Kirsty has a background in logistics, sponsorship, communications, event management and production. She has worked for over ten years between Perth and London managing and delivering a wide range of events and clients including HP’s Sponsorship of the Sundance Film Festival, launch of Heathrow Terminal 5 and SAP Global Sponsorships. Kirsty is committed to delivering amazing, memorable events and is always willing to go above and beyond to add that wow factor, it's what she loves.
Michael, or 'Judgey' as he’s fondly known, has over 15 years experience in the events industry. Having worked in London, Melbourne and Perth he is well versed in the technical, operational and production elements that combine to make a great event. He’s also our resident tech-savy team member and keeps us all up to date with the latest gadgets, apps and ways of doing things that don’t involve a pen or paper. Michael joined the Lux Events team in 2012 to rekindle his passion for production and has a long running association with many high profile events and industry associations.
With over 20 years events management experience, Katy has worked in the corporate, not-for-profit and hotel sectors on both large and small scale events. Katy enjoys the creative side of events as well as collaborating with her clients to create amazing events and manages major clients including, Master Builders Australia, Bentley Polo in the Valley, WA School of Mines, ECU and Bethanie. Katy is passionate about events and her key drive is to ensure a seamless and fabulous event for her clients.
Joey came from Singapore and brings with her 8 years of experience in the integrated events and marketing industry. Having worked with leading brands such as McDonald's and Coca-Cola on turnkey campaigns, as well as managed the largest national F&B festival in Singapore for 5 years, she has a deep understanding of how the events industry constantly evolves with new media and technologies. Being part of Lux's Experiential and Outdoor Events team, Joey constantly pushes boundaries and explores new experiential concepts with the production team. Besides doing very cool things on a daily basis, scuba diving defines Joey's other side of life which taught her that one should not be afraid to tread out of their comfort zone to discover the true depth of their abilities.
Mandy’s introduction to the world of events was in February 2014 when she joined the Lux Event Management team as an Events Assistant. She’s spent 10 years in the IT Industry in varied roles from Sales Support to Account Management in Perth, Melbourne and London. Mandy has found her true calling in Events and enjoys nothing more than being part of such a collaborative and creative team bringing ideas and concepts to life. In her spare time she enjoys falling asleep on the beach, sipping pina-coladas and planning her next international travel adventure.
Andrew Hiscox has recently joined the Lux Events team bringing with him a wealth of technical knowledge and corporate event experience unrivalled in Western Australia. He is an event production manager with over 21 years of experience, specialising in large scale and technically challenging business events. Ranging from AGM's to awards nights, he has designed, managed and operated many of Perth's largest corporate events. Not only has he worked throughout Australia, he has worked extensively on events in Asia; predominantly in China, Singapore and Hong Kong.
From Graduations to national awards nights and international off shore conferences, Andrew has skills and knowledge that span the Asia Pacific region. Drawing on his theatrical roots and his time at the WA Academy of Performing Arts, he brings style, drama and critical show timing to all his events.
Glen is Lux's business process improvement guru and has been with the team for over 10 years. Glen is an all-rounder having worked on events in just about every capacity - production management, lighting design, account manager, motion graphics, and crew. Prior to his events experience Glen was an application software Project Manager working with some of Australia's largest financial institutions. Glen's deep knowledge of almost every aspect of event production, combined with his analytical and project management experience, ideally positions him to improve Lux's business processes and efficiency and help the team to drive better outcomes for the business and Lux's customers.
Damien provides the backbone of the Lux business and brings a calm, logical perspective that is essential to any creative organisation. Damien has been with Lux since its inception and his solid foundation in production and operations has proven to be crucial in the continuing growth of the company. He’s also the tallest man on the team.
James is equipped with a Diploma of Production and Design at WAAPA and worked as a technician and Production Manager in London for three and a half years, managing clients and venues such as Lords, Vinopolis and KPMG. It was whilst in London that James developed a passion for sporting events, which has carried through to his role at Lux Events. James’ favourite colour is purple so he’s very happy to be the Production Manager for the Fremantle Dockers and does enjoy the odd game of indoor cricket as well.
Damiano brings almost 20 years of industry experience and Audio Visual expertise to Lux Events. His career began in Europe, as a youngster he built his own recording studio when he outgrew the family garage. This was the beginning of his journey into the exciting world of events and he hasn’t looked back since. Damiano’s diverse range of experience includes festival events, nightclubs, multimedia exhibitions, interactive installations, dance theatre companies and television. In his spare time he likes to tinker with electronic devices, and occasionally defies the laws of gravity in small airplanes.
John joined the Lux team in March of 2011 and has brought with him a broad rage of skills. He has over 15 years experience as a Lighting Designer, Operator and Technician along with several years experience as a Hire and Production Manager and is a qualified licensed rigger holding multiple certificates. In his two minutes of spare time each week, John likes to build engines and partake in a bit of diving, fishing and recreational boating.
Rob is new to the Lux team, but not to the event staging industry. With over 19 years experience, Rob started off as an AV technician with a background in videography and video production. In 1997 Rob moved from behind the camera to the Operations Department as Crew Controller, Operations Coordinator and to his most recent position as Operations Manager. I still enjoy picking up my camera or iPhone these days and you can mostly find me on the sideline early on a Sunday morning filming or photographing my two young sons playing junior football.
Marcin is a seasoned AV operator and has been in the biz since 2002. This talented man is our resident multimedia and projection pro and lucky for us he's a brilliant photographer. He's driven to create memorable moments and unforgettable experiences for guests that will stay with them forever (how nice is that!).
From a young age Ben liked to tinker and mess about with contraptions, when ever there was a big red button he had to press it! After finishing media production at Murdoch University in 2006, AV was the perfect gadget-friendly avenue for his career. Once he had gained experience working as a technician for a few years, Ben was given the opportunity to move into multimedia and hasn't looked back since. Combining his creativity and design knowledge, Ben is able to draw from his AV skills to provide bespoke content for any event.
Mark began his lighting career in Ireland, designing shows for musical and theatrical productions. Upon moving to Perth, he entered the AV scene casually and decided that this was where he was to develop his career. After a number of years as a Technical Director and Project Manager, Mark has decided to focus solely on his lighting skills and is excited about producing top class events with Lux.
